Image Tracer SM - Blender

A simple optimised image tracer for Blender. Take a black and white image to a filled curve ready to extrude in 3D in three buttons. Not sure how it works? Don't worry, there is a full step by step explanation below the buttons so you can try the long way around.

• Follow each button starting with Import image. Navigate to your image and open
• Image trace does exactly what it says and adds a grease pencil outline.
• Convert to curve will do just that and add a fill to your curve ready to extrude. The curve will also be optimised to minimise vertices.

The addon works best with high contrast images.

Once the trace is complete go into edit mode, select all faces and extrude.

Now working with Blender 4.3 - Use v2.1.0

V2.1.0 now traces the white of the image. Invert the image if you have a black and white image as per the examples in the header. Alphas are now also regonised and will be treated as black.

Blender 4.2 - Use v2.0.0

V2.0.0 traces the black of a black and white image.
